Permission to Study

Dependent children under MM2H can study in international schools, but a "Permission to Study" stamp (also known as "Chop Kayu") must be obtained from the MM2H Office in Putrajaya. The dependent children must not be older than 18 years and must be physically present in Malaysia when applying for the Permission to Study under MM2H.

Documents & Process for Permission to Study

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR PERMISSION TO STUDY

  • Authorization Letter by the principal – Must be signed by the principal.

  • Copy of the MM2H Approval Letter.

  • Copy of the principal's current passport particular page and the current MM2H visa page.

  • Copy of the dependent child's current passport particular page, current MM2H visa page, and latest entry stamp page.

  • Original letter of acceptance from the school.

  • Original enrolment fee payment/receipt from the school.

  • Copy of the bank statement showing the payment to the school.

  • Two passport-sized photos with a blue background for each child – You can send us the photos with a different background colour, or we can take the photo at our office and send it for printing, with additional charges billed to the invoice.

  • Release Letter if the principal applied for MM2H through a previous agent/sponsor that is still active.
Due to impersonation fraud, if there is a change of agent/sponsor, a Release Letter from the original agent/sponsor must be obtained, absolving them of all responsibilities related to the MM2H applicant. The principal can request this letter directly, or Alter Domus can assist in obtaining it on behalf of the applicant – the previous agent/sponsor may charge a fee for issuing a Release Letter due to the loss of potential clients and business.

All documents must be provided to us at least 2 days before our trip to the MM2H Centre.
The processing time for submitting the permission to study application at the MM2H Centre is 1 working day. However, if there are system issues at the MM2H Centre, processing may be delayed by 1 or 2 working days, depending on the situation at the Centre.

The MM2H Centre will take at least 14 working days (excluding weekends and public holidays) to review and process your submission. We will update the applicant(s) once we receive the approval for your dependent child(ren)'s Permission to Study.

Once it is approved, you will be required to hand over your dependent children's passports at least 2 days before our trip to Putrajaya for endorsement.

The processing time for the endorsement at the MM2H Centre is 1 day, and the passport(s) will be returned to your children the following day at our office. However, if the MM2H system experiences issues, it may take an additional 1 or 2 days to process at Putrajaya before returning the passport(s) on the following day.
