MM2H Visa Renewal & Extension

All MM2H visas, for all categories, can be renewed for 5 years after fulfilling the initial terms granted to the applicants according to the type of MM2H they applied for. We encourage our MM2H participants to submit their renewal application at least 6 months before expiry.

If the applicant(s) receive a new passport, the MM2H visa must be transferred to the new passport, as the one in the old passport will no longer be valid—this is known as a "Transfer of Sticker." If the full visa term has not been used by the applicant(s), they can apply for a new passport and claim the remaining balance of the visa term in the new passport—this is known as an extension (or "Claim Balance"). It is advisable to apply for the extension/claim balance at least 3 months before the MM2H visa expiry date, and transfer the sticker as soon as the applicant(s) receive their new passport, especially if they are in Malaysia.

If the MM2H visa has expired or has not been transferred to the new passport, the applicant(s) will be considered tourists in Malaysia.

All applicants, along with their dependents, must be physically present in Malaysia to complete the renewal and extension process.
