MM2H Visa Renewal & Extension

All MM2H visa for all categories can be renewed for 5 years after collected all the initial years terms given to the applications according to the type of MM2H they applied for (5- or 10-years terms for MM2H holders under old conditions, 10-years for MM2H in SEZ (JB), while 10- or 15- or 20-years terms for 3-tier MM2H according to its category). We encourage our MM2H participants to do the submission of renewal at least 6 months prior to expiry.

In the event the applicant(s) received a new passport, the MM2H visa must be transferred into the new passport as the one in the old passport will no longer be valid – This is known as "Transfer of Sticker". If the years terms were not fully collected by the applicant(s) on their passport, applicant can apply for a new passport and claim the remaining balance of the years terms onto their new passport – This is known as extension (or "Claim Balance"). It is advisable to do the extension/claim balance at least 3 months before the MM2H visa expiry date, and transfer the sticker as soon as the applicant(s) received their new passport if the applicant(s) are in Malaysia.

If the MM2H visa has expired or the MM2H visa is not on the new passport, that particular applicant(s) will be considered as tourist in Malaysia.

All applicant(s) along with their dependent(s) must be physically present in Malaysia to do the renewal and extension.
